Runway Report: Jason Wu

Sun streamed into the long narrow Exit Art gallery way over on 10th Avenue, which was fitted with a white runway and white chairs for Wu's spring collection. The creme de la creme of the fashion world crushed and clambered together to discuss the latest and greatest. School is definitely back in session. Many Voguers were there—Andre and Anna front and center. GG's Leighton Meester also made a front-row appearance. As for the girls on view, the look was utterly ladylike—perfect french macaroons in their green and pink and yellow Easter dresses edged up a bit with big messy crimped chignons under straw pork-pie-ish hats. All was prim and proper, though some Kelly green looks seemed to appear from out of nowhere...that is, until the gowns came along. Wu knows his way around a jewel tone and a chiffon pleat, and that's where the oohs and aahs began.
