Runway Report: Rag & Bone

The raw hangar pitched on Pier 94 at the edge of the world served as a fitting backdrop for Rag & Bone's latest collection. Gone are the opulent chandeliers of the former venue, and with them the warm tones and loungey fabrics of last spring. Taking severe muses like Joy Division and English skinheads, these clothes were tougher and skinnier. Men's pants went on a crash diet, with maniacal zippers crossed up and down the legs. Women wore aggressively sexy shifts, and sported a vividly dense flower pattern that, from a distance, resembled leopard prints. There were sharp suits for everyone, several with a brash sharkskin-like sheen, and one that wrapped equally well around a man and a woman. No one can deny that Rag & Bone know how to make hot, confident clothes for both sexes.
