Runway Report: Robert Geller

From the moment we walked in circular showroom with its central rope art piece, we were reminded of Thom Browne's circus show last season. When the loose-fitting, almost clownish suits, and horizontal striped pants came out, that feeling continued. Of course, this was all to Geller's benefit. His double-breasted racerback vests (a trend this season?), crumpled "gypsy" jackets, oddly cut tuxedo shirts, and crisp shorts showed that, despite his continued use of rock aesthetics and dour moods, Geller is well on his way to stepping out of his hipster sphere and establishing himself in the category of Mr. Browne—though assuredly more mainstream.
