Mom Jeans and Mud "Shirts": The Row's Spring 2010 Collection Dresses Suburban Wood Nymphs

the-row-spring-2010-1.jpg

Forgive us for the end-of-the-week snark, but when it's nearing quittin' time, and we're presented with a lookbook of the likes of The Row's spring 2010 collection, we can't help but poke a little fun. Granted, the clothes themselves aren't bad: There are lots of simply tailored staples that we've come to love and expect from the Olsens, like form-fitting skirts and loose jersey tops. But, oy. The styling. While socks and contoured shirts are more than trendy right now, mud versions of them look like an unfortunate foray into fake-tanner art. And the dried floral forehead decorations and unkempt hair to rival Robert Pattinson's reminds of the time we went camping and woke up to find that our tent had blown away. As for the Mom Jeans? We have no words. (Supreme Management)

We Bust a Move in TomTom's Spring 2010 Jewelry Collection

tomtom-jewelry-spring-2010-1.jpgWe know a thing or two about our what we like draped around around us for a night on the town: Our good friends, a hot dance partner, and pretty baubles of the likes of TomTom Jewelry's spring 2010 collection aptly titled "Shape Shape It Up." The geometric shapes, gems, and flashy metallic ornaments are named after some of our favorite songs to shake it to—notably, we're mad for the fierce Spin Right Round earrings and Parallel Lines bracelet chain bracelet. And with pieces hovering around $100, they're great statement pieces that won't cost you your drinks-with-that-dance allowance for the month.

Lighten Up! Jay Kos' Spring 2010 Line Pushes Pastels For Men

jay-kos-spring-2010-1.jpg

Now that it's pitch black by 6:00 pm, pastel anything is a welcome sight. Classy menswear in pastel, however, is a whole other kind of nice. Jay Kos delivers the goods with a spring 2010 collection of sportswear and accessories that turn any gent into a dapper box of mints—and we mean that in the most masculine way possible! Designer Jay Kos' unique take on dressing comes from his small-town upbringing and a need to add a splash of color to the conformist attitudes around him. He did so with a balance of grey tones and leather, turning out a look that reads of confidence and of-the-moment debonaire. We can't get over the Alabaster Sport Coat and array of Suede Bucks—here's to more men wearing pastel in the new year!

Cushnie et Ochs' Spring Line Presents a Lookbook Full of Dramatic Model Poses

cushnie-et-ochs-spring-2010-1.jpg

We imagine that there's this rush right when a model returns from strutting it on the runway—when she's totally basking in the post-catwalk glow and it might be getting to her head that she could take over the world with fierceness. Cushnie et Ochs captured just that coutureuphoria in their spring 2010 lookbook which features grainy Chadwick Tyler-shot photos of models backstage at the Cushnie show. But to be perfectly honest, we'd probably feel pretty unstoppable too if we're wearing that red chiffon floor length dress or cat-woman-esque black body suit. Now, don't forget to smile with your eyes!

Hyden Yoo Shows the Ladies Some Love With His New Femme-Focused Spring Collection

hyden-yoo-boots-mustard-trench.jpg

Usually reserved for fashionable fellas, Hyden Yoo's Spring collection now includes a women's line—and it's about damn time that we got some love, too! Set right on the shore of an industrial wasteland, his spring 2010 collection makes lounging on concrete payment in rolled-up denim shorts look absurdly cool. We're completely fixated on that worn-in, mustard trench coat paired with some slouchy pants—and the cotton jersey dress layered with strands of pearls is right on point for the holiday dress season (pair it with thick tights and a great vest and you'll knock any hint of "summery" outta the dress).

Be Still Our Hearts! Our Ode to Duskin's Spring 2010 Line

duskin-spring-2010-1.jpg

At the risk of sounding crush-drunk and subjective, we have but one word for the Duskin Spring 2010 lookbook: Lovely. Feminine, soft silhouettes seem to yield to the whims of every modern romantic strolling down Bedford Ave. A white cotton dress coated with spiraling eyelets flows seamlessly with a high-waisted floral skirt and sweetheart neckline dress. Simplistic fabrics are accented with beaded motifs and rope belts, while a sequined vest and black sharp-shouldered jacket provide an evening uniform fit for breaking hearts. Upper East Side renaissance woman Rebecca Schiffman, whose to-do list we can't even begin to imagine, is picture perfect in the wearable, dreamy collection against a faded blue backdrop. We've got to wonder if the designer/musician/artist/zine-editor won't trade in her signature jeans & t-shirt look for this parade of comely accouterments.
