It's a Post-Snooze-Button Scurry in Tom Scott's Spring Lookbook

tom-scott-lookbook-3.jpg

Our frantic morning routine of outfit options could roughly fill an entire lookbook, and it appears that Tom Scott''s spring collection is loosely based on that post-snooze-button protocol. Filled with sleepy-eyed models shuffling around in lazy, lounge-y pieces, we're ticked by this rendition of our sunrise scurry. Though we might not have time to cry over Dear Abbey letters that early in the a.m. (much less ruin a freshly applied coat, or from the looks of it, five coats of mascara), we might be able to relate to ironing with blurry eyes, especially if we imagine ourselves in that neat twisted curtain top. And if our morning wardrobe consisted of that sheer t-shirt and matching harem pant (perfect, it seems, for putting on a show while watering your houseplants), we might never make it out of the house.

Nicole Richie's Winter Kate Heats Up Our Offices

nicole-richie-winter-kate-1.jpg

If one thinks back only a few years, it seems almost impossible that the spoiled, tacky chipmunk-faced Robin to Paris Hilton's Batman in "The Simple Life" could have amounted to anything other than a cautionary tale on the excesses of L.A. stardom and the lows to which American culture can sink. But Nicole Richie continues to confound expectations, add to her style credibility, and make us smile. After shaking off a few years of Rachel Zoe-inspired overdressing and gossip-mag living, Richie has stayed sober, become a responsible mother, and developed her own, truly interesting take on late-'60s early '70s Southern California style with her lines House of Harlow 1960 and the new, steamy casuals collection, Winter Kate. Whodathunkit? For its inaugural season, Winter Kate, named after one of Richie's children, sticks to lush, unstructured, floral-print dresses, tops, and mini shorts—of the 40-piece spring collection, almost every one seems designed for when the mercury rises above 90°. If only to turn the steam bath into a blast furnace, Richie has model Vanessa Traina ('member her?) lounging about in semi-sheer tunic tops and teddy-style dresses in a gauzy lookbook straight out of some beach boy's 1976 daydream. We're starting to work up a sweat.

What Goes Around Comes Around's Spring Lookbook Is Right In Time for Our Indian Summer

wcaga-what-comes-around-spring-10-1.jpg

We went through a bit of a Grateful Dead phase in college (that we, frankly, were pretty grateful to get out of), but the What Goes Around Comes Around spring 2010 lookbook is resurrecting our love of all things boho. The pieces are seriously vibin' with affinity for homespun duds and we can envision ourselves lying around a bonfire in those distressed denim shorts with a baja-printed blanket draped over our shoulders. And with this Indian Summer brightening up the November skies, these golden-hued photos are inspiring us to dig through our storage spaces for those shorts and dresses we already packed away for the winter.

Olivia Rubin Outfits the Next Generation of Monets

olivia-rubin-spring-2010-1.jpg

Whether you favor cubism or abstract impressionism (or slept through art history altogether), it's a pretty standard commonality that a girl in a pretty dress is always a muse-worthy subject matter. In this dot-splotched lookbook shot by Alistair Guy, model Alys looks pretty as a painting in an array of asymmetrical cocktail numbers with a fine-arts-major edge. These Olivia Rubin designs mix pinks, blues, and peaches with black contour lines and heels fit for sauntering into any gallery with ease. We hope she isn't missing too much class time to pose for the camera, but if the masterpieces surrounding her are any indication of her talents, she's going to pass with flying colors. Tina Kaliva's Printed, Folded, Stunner of a Collection Has Us Going Gaga

tina-kalivas-polyrhythms-spring-2009-1.jpg

Much too often, the tribal trend means slapping an ikat print on a dress and calling it a day. But when it comes to traditional aesthetics, there's tons of material to love and draw inspiration from. Aussie designer Tina Kalivas' latest collection left us slack-jawed with pieces that are at once an exercise in ebullience and restraint. Reappropriating traditional African pattern-making, her collection is filled with mesmerizing prints splashed on streamlined silhouettes. The peplumed skirts would look stunning with a slouchy, black sweater or a sleek buttoned-up shirt, and we're going gaga for that printed, stunner of a dress with the hip ruffles and sexy princess bodice. The best part? There's not a stupid leather sandal or wooden accessory in the whole lookbook. Brava, Tina!

We Take A Second and More Forgiving Look at Stella McCartney's New Lingerie Line

stella-mccartney-ss10-bendon-lingerie-1.jpg

Confession: We were quick to deem the first batch of photos from Stella McCartney's lingerie line for Benton Ltd. as a premature step towards joining the AARP. Cranking up the sexy time factor this time around, the official lookbook is little less granny and a little more "I'm-so-carefree-in-these-undies-I'm-gonna-roll-around-in-a-field." We're still a little skeptical about those bum-flattening silk shorts and that strawberry print set, but the ruffled, floral bra and black lace cardigan (hopefully a diffused version from her eponymous line) are chic enough for the time being.
