Save Fashion is Back: Our Dream Sample Sale Is Coming to SoHo!
Every serious shopper knows New York is the place for amazing sample sales, but it can be truly frightening out there on the front lines. We're seasoned sale veterans here at Refinery29, and we'd had enough of the grumpy salespeople, fluorescent-lit rooms, and so-so stock. We knew there had to be a fun way to get the best deals on the coolest duds, so we brainstormed and plotted and came up with our dream sample sale. We call it Save Fashion, and after an incredible debut last May at Port Authority, it's popping up again, this time in SoHo. Get ready, because from November 13-22 we'll be selling only the very best wares from our favorite designers—Band of Outsiders, Vena Cava, Sophomore, Steven Alan, Wren, Rogan, Rag & Bone, and more!—all at up to 90% off, all in one place, with new stock added daily. And did we mention the sale also benefits Charity: Water? From us to you, and just in time for the holidays. So, give your fightin' elbows a rest, and come check out what we have up our sleeves…and stay tuned for more sneak-peeks at all the gorgeous loot we'll have waiting for you!
Save Fashion at Inven.tory, 237 Lafayette Street, at Spring. November 13-22, 12-8pm.

The Newly Launched Twin Magazine Doesn't Want You To Call It a Magazine

In another instance of rogue publishers giving traditional magazines the middle finger, Twin Magazine's debut issue wants to lay a couple things down. Firstly, they are not a magazine, so please call them a book. And secondly, they are "strong, sensual, and independent—like its readers" (thank you!). Substance over surface is their motto, so in an attempt to remove the gloss from glossies, the first issue is packed with content delivered straight from some of fashion's superstars. Todd Selby gets Selby-fied as he turns the lens on his own house, Freja Beha Erichson dons some leather and a sneer in a dark-'n'-gloomy editorial, and Garance Doré gets a little feature that we're bound to love. Pick up your own magazine...er, we mean book in all its strong and sensual glory here online.

Kids With Style Rule Our Favorite New Website, Planet Awesome Kid

Vowing to give up our recent puppy binge, we've turned our eye onto Planet Awesome Kid to indulge our daily allowance of adorableness—and oh baby, are we hooked! Started by casting director Julia Samersova Adler with contributions from photographers like Craig Arend of Altamira NYC, the street style blog compiles the best-dressed of the grade-school-set. From miniature besties straight muggin' for the lens to wee fashion-babies with shrunken-to-fit Chanel bags, we're struggling to quell our chorus of "awws." Keep an eye open for Planet Awesome Kid-hosted charity events that plan to raise money for kid-centric causes (as if those dimples and curly locks aren't already enough to get you clicking). www.planetawesomekid.com

Now Everyone Can Dress Like Am-Lul's Gala Gonzalez

International blogger and stylist Gala Gonzalez of Inside Am-lul's Closet has debuted a new line of clothing in collaboration with Spanish label Adolfo Dominquez that looks as if it were pulled right our of her grunge-glam closet. Though she may be another blogger-turned-designer, we have to say that Gala's fashion industry background gave her collection a leg-up. Honing in on her rock-'n'-roller sensibilities, the collection of womenswear and menswear has enough leather, crosses, and loose cotton jersey to make anyone feel like Billy Idol or Madonna—or, perhaps more appropriate, Gala and her equally chic BFF, Pelayo Diaz. Pick up your own dirty denim and flirty skirts here online.

Stella McCartney's New Lingerie Line For Bendon Looks More Granny Than Sexy

We've explored the world of super-hot, vintage-inspired lingerie before, so we were already tuned in when it was announced today that Stella McCartney has lent her delicate hand again to New Zealand-based Bendon Ltd. to create another line of intimates. Named after women caught in "cheeky situations," the pieces—the "Eva Scampering" chemise, the "Ines Sneaking" crepe bra, and the "Rosie Plotting" feather-prints—are all grouped into one of fifteen "Grannie-Name, Action-Verb" groups. But, if we could make one artistic suggestion after seeing the puckering, matronly "Billie Twirling" collection, it'd be that "Gertrude Didn't-Iron-Nothin'" might have been a more apt moniker. The pieces run from $45 for a (classy, we're sure) cotton bikini emblazoned with "Happy Birthday" to silk, monogramed knickers for $195. We're much bigger fans of Stella's own silky wares for her eponymous lingerie collection, but we're hoping that the rest of collection to be unveiled later today will yield more tempting wares. (WWD)
