8 Festival: Vienna Fashion Pops Up!

For just 10 days this month, Vienna celebrated their influx of talented (not to mention underrated) fashion designers and photographers with a festival of exhibitions, runway shows, and parties called simply "8". The number refers to how many years (yeah, clever!) the founding organization, Unit F, has been working with Austrian artists to shed light on their skills and bring them international attention (yep, last year's was called "7", and so on). And although the festival has recently ended, the collections can still be seen until tomorrow, June 21, at Guerilla Store, the cooperative project and pop-up shop that opened in the trendy Neubau neighborhood to show off and sell the event's participating lines.

This sleek temporary space offers the chance to pick up lesser-known (and also known: Anna Aichinger and Petar Petrov, in particular) lines, all of which were chosen for the store by Nelleke Strijkers, owner of Amsterdam's high-end concept shop SPRMRKT. Other notables: Modern Martyr's silvery Hikikomori-inspired womenswear, fiberglass handbags by Vienna Bag, and cool neutral pieces by Brandmair. Remember, though, in 24 hours, Guerilla Store will be gone, baby, gone!
