Jil Sander At The Touch of a Button! Interview's Vending Machines Bring Us Insta-Luxe at Art Basel

We've long considered the vending machine the glassy guardians of treats guaranteed to give us ten-minute stomachaches. But, for this year's Miami Art Basel, our one-stop Butterfinger shops are receiving a total revamp in honor of Interview Magazine's 40th anniversary. The sleek, closet-sized dispensers will be installed in the Mondrian hotel, and will showcase a wealth of special art-inspired items that are just as drool-worthy as snacks, but with none of the saturated fats. We're already acting like kids in a candy store over the selection, which includes Vena Cava canvas kicks, limited edition Jil Sander tees, and the Prada Marfa poster that guest-stars on Gossip Girl. If that's not sweet, than we don't know what is—though if you're planning on copping any of the merch, we suggest bringing more than a fistful of quarters.

More Art Basel products after the break!

Picking the perfect outfit for a flight is like getting dressed for a blind date. A great piece of luggage, like a fabulous clutch, can give a gal confidence in any environment. So when we saw these sketches from Steven Alan, we couldn't wait to take a trip with his limited edition travel bag created specifically for V Australia . Designed for a Perfect Trip to Australia, the bag will combine Alan's signature tailoring with the style and feel of Sydney. Both fashionable and functional, the bag will be made of waxed canvas and red nylon, with rope fasteners and convertible backpack straps. Available for a limited time this December, it will be sold at select Steven Alan boutiques in NY and LA, as well as the V Australia website. And even if your sights aren't set towards Sydney, this bag would be perfect for a quick jaunt anywhere—even if it's back home for a holiday weekend.

From Coast to Coast, One Vintage YSL Jacket Meets 14 Lovely Ladies

Meet Yvie: A late '70s/early '80s purple vintage brocade jacket I bought on eBay last year for a mere song (hint: It was well under $50). When YSL asked us to join their blogging trip across the country, we knew that bringing Yvie along was a good idea. She loves a good time. She knows how to make an entrance. She's fashionably inappropriate in all the right ways. Because of all these things, we knew she would help us sniff out each city's most stylish women—ladies with real attitude, who own their personal style and eat predictable fashion rules for breakfast…basically women who weren't afraid of purple brocade and big sharp shoulders. As we had hoped, Yvie really got around—and, as you can see, she looked damn good doing it.

From NYC to San Francisco, Our Top 10 YSL Journey Moments

If you've been keeping up with your Refinery29 missives over the past week, you know that two of us have been a bit busy. Starting in NYC then off to Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco—all in just 10 days—our mission was to discover the true spirit of cool French women (here in the U.S.) in honor of YSL's brand-new fragrance PARISIENNE. As you can imagine, we encountered so much more than just pain au chocolat and piles of good frites (and they were GOOD). Here are the best parts…and thanks YSL for inviting us along. Our inner French girls adore you.

ysl-highlights.jpg1. Having a pain au chocolate, croque monsieur, quiche, a chocolate walnut cookie, and bread pudding all in one breakfast at the mind-blowing Tartine bakery in San Fran. Thank god there isn't one in NYC.

2. Stocking up on artist's books at the totally fantastic, we-wish-it-were-in-New-York Golden Age bookstore in Pilsen, Chicago.

3. The beautiful chaos that was Jim Drain and Naomi Fisher's Miami studio in the Design District. (And then running into our friends Francesca and Garth a block from said studio and getting a sneak peek at Francesca's new solo show for Basel.)

4. Discovering Gravel & Gold in The Mission—a treasure trove of perfect vintage objects and the best collection of striped vintage tees for 20 clams each. (Oh, and we discovered this book there too.)

5. Spending way too much money thrifting in Miami at Fly Boutique and Angel's Vintage. Our scores: Leopard Jacket, velvet carpet bag, and an amazing rhinestone and silver choker that could be Tom Binns!

6. Our beds at the James Hotel, Chicago. We slept like the dead.

7. Getting slap happy at O'Hare airport and pointing at things with our feet (those early morning flights make us loopy).

8. Holy flaming cocktails, Batman! The fiery Blue Blazer at Absinthe magically cured what was ailing us (and came with a free history lesson on spirits in San Fran).

9. Dive bar beers with Sophia from SF-based shopping site Nasty Gal & Champagne by the pool at The Setai, in Miami—we like it both ways.

10. Getting lots of great bonding time with our girl Yvie.

A First Look at the Save Fashion Space Before You Head Over Yourselves!

save-fashion-november-2009-1.jpg

Well last evening was the big press and friends-and-family night for our second edition of Save Fashion, and just like the first, between rifling through racks of Vena Cava dresses, chatting up our favorite editors and designers, and seeing how many vodka cranberries we could down in a row, we took a few minutes to walk around the space and enjoy the amazing job done by our resident retail design team, Aux Armes. Our go-to daring duo, Dino Siampos and Sam Wheeler and the phenomenal design team at Roanne Adams dressed Inven.tory with a selection of '60s-inspired found objects (including a little help from Charity: Water who provided the fuel tanks to remind us shoppers that the sale helps provide clean water around the world), black-and-white printed canvas that reminded us of American flags, and, of course, blow-ups of those awesome shots by Tom Hines. Come see for yourself at Save Fashion, at Inven.tory, 237 Lafayette between Prince and Spring in Manhattan from today all the way to November 22nd.
