Alexander Wang Makes Affordable Khaki Motorcycle Jackets For the Gap

alexander-wang-white-tee.jpgWe didn't exactly rush out to the front lines the second Gap put out their white shirt collaboration, in which CFDA/Vogue winners like Threeasfour, Thakoon, and Rodarte redid the white shirt with poufs, bows, or pleats. But our ears definitely perked up upon hearing that fashion darling Alexander Wang would be next up for the Gap collab, but instead of doing white shirts, he's doing khaki. Hmm. White shirts would've made sense, considering his penchant for simple tees in see-through materials. Leather would've made even more sense, but we can see why that didn't work out given the price limitations. But khaki? Is Gap hoping Alex will bring some of his downtown cool to the boring fabric they've been trying to push for forever? Apparently, he even did an "incredible motorcycle jacket that's going to be under $100," says Patrick Robinson. It's coming out on June 16th, but before we plan on calling in to work sick that morning, we'll need to see more photos. (Fashionologie)
