And the Winner is… Alex Wang Takes Home CFDA Fund Top Honors

Well, we were 1 for 3 in our CFDA predictions—but we're just too pleased to care. Sure we said that, given Rogan's win last year, there was little chance that an edgy, dark designer like Alex Wang could win the CFDA Fund Award—but he went and did it anyway. Tonight, $200,000 and a year of mentoring from some of the industry's best minds are all Wang's and he deserves it. His clothes are brilliant, his aesthetic is visible all over the streets, and the guy throws really good parties. We're equally happy that two of our all-time favorites, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava, got the runner-up nod (as we predicted they would). That $50,000 and mentoring should come in handy over the next few seasons. We echo the words of Buhai who emailed us after, "AMEN. We did it!!!" Milliner Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus also earned runner-up honors (we'll have to keep our eyes on that one). Congratulations all around. Now who would you have picked? (WWD)
