Attention-Seeking Lawsuit Over Attention-Seeking T-Shirt Revealed as Attention-Seeking PR Stunt

againstobama.jpg
So it turns out that the spurious reports of a lawsuit filed by someone who claimed to have been assaulted while wearing a product of the "The-T-Shirt-Designer-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" were the result of a crass PR ploy, but poorly researched as well. Now, the editor at Metro who assigned the wild tale has been summarily executed (or fired, forgot which) for not doing his due journalistic diligence. This reminds us of something we're always telling our friends about working in fashion journalism: It may be frilly, self-indulgent, and what have you—but if you don't have a Carl-Bernstein-sized bullshit detector, you ain't getting very far.
