Between Friends: Marc Jacobs Taps Gal Pal Sofia Coppola to Design for Louis Vuitton

sophia1001.jpgWe all know that Marc Jacobs loves a collaboration over at his French-based day job, Louis Vuitton. His past endeavors have included Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and designer Rei Kawakubo. Now, WWD reports that Marc is keeping it in the family this time by having his friend, constant front-row supporter, director, and all-around fashion world fave Sofia Coppola to help design a series of handbags and shoes. The products will be launched in Japan and sold worldwide. On top of being one of Jacob's declared muses, Coppola has starred in ads for the designer's eponymous line in the past and is lending her face to LV's current campaign. We're thinking meetings will take place at Jacobs' house while watching scary movies in their robes and waiting for their face masks to dry. (WWD)
