Collab Alert: Ruffian Brings Some Upper East Side Luxe to Anthropologie

Easy to covet but hard to find, Ruffian's collections are a favorite of Uptown Girls, and when we caught word that a collaboration with Anthropologie was launching this morning, we could nearly hear the droves of Upper East Siders reaching for their credit cards. Inspired by great classic movie stars like Marlene Dietrich in Hitchcock's "Stage Fright", the lower-priced line, Mise en Scene, is still full of signature Ruffian notes like tailored jackets nipped cleanly at the waist, uses of opulent, textured fabrics, and a timeless sensibility. What's left behind? The hefty price tag. Bona-fide Ruffian can run you into the poorhouse with opaque tights costing nearly $200, but for the Anthropologie line, pieces range from $18 for an ombre soda glass to $348 for a nearly bespoke dress coat. The collection is available online or in stores. (WWD)
