Each year, local crowds flock to the mecca of DIY artisans: The Renegade Craft Fair, that hurricane of independent designers and crafters who offer up clothing, jewelry, accessories, and pretty much anything else you could ever want (and many things you won't). Stop by the usually-shuttered McCarren Park Pool this weekend for a healthy dose of homemade goodness.

Dear Birthday
Each piece of clothing from Valerie Soles' line is lovingly handmade in her Greenpoint apartment, using vintage silhouettes and natural fabrics. Her latest collection features Liberty of London prints on mod minidresses and fluttery, hippie blouses&dassh;perfect for the upcoming summer of love. www.dearbirthday.com

Erica Weiner
Not afraid to delve into the eldritch or the otherwise just-plain-weird, jewelry designer Erica Weiner can take the creepiest and crawliest of images and twist them into wearable art. Check out her vertabrae necklace and porcupine-quill earrings, or play it safe with a glittery geode pendant. www.ericaweiner.com

Something's Hiding Here
Looking for charming curios that harken back to the simple, odder pleasures of childhood to mix up your adult look? The crafty eccentrics of Something's Hiding Here offer witty accessories and gifts, including felt mustaches, paint-by-numbers pieces, wishbones, and faux-bois printed-wood pieces. Visit www.etsy.com.

Domestic Construction
Partners in craft Trish and Maureen create colorful tributes to vintage kitsch. Among their wares—pendant lamps made with tea cups and playful patterned skirts and dresses. www.domestic construction.com

Endless Hats
The copious amounts of wicker and hemp make the Craft Fair a dangerous enough place without considering the very real risk of catching heat stroke in the waterless pool. Stop by this booth to stock up on plaid hunter caps, seersucker beach hats, and soft slouchy berets. Preview on Flickr.
