Alber Elbaz for Acne: Lanvin's Designer Tries On Some Jeans

Shocking! Fashion's floppy, bowtied darling, Alber Elbaz, has focused his prized couture skills on a line of comparatively downtown denim. The Lanvin designer's collaboration with Swedish brand and hipster fave, Acne Jeans may surprise fans of his high-drama (and high-priced), brightly-colored flowing gowns. But (unlike some past H+M collaborations with high-end designers) this is the good kind of surprise.

The collection deftly takes yet another step forward in bridging that ever-narrowing gap between Bergdorf and Bedford Avenue. Designed for city dwellers high and low, the reinvented classic tuxedo jackets, trenches, charming minidresses, and cuffed jeans are sure to satisfy style mongers of every taste—if not every budget.

Alber Elbaz's Acne Jeans line will be available at Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman in November.
