Girls on Film: The Silver Screen Subs in for Runways
For as long as there have been moving pictures, fashion and film have been sexy bedfellows. It seems that designers have caught wind of the digital revolution and some powerful fashion influencers are opting to place their latest on celluloid in lieu of the runway. Stefano Pilati has presented his menswear collection as a short film for the past two seasons, Band of Outsiders showed a virtual runway starring Max Minghella and Kirsten Dunst, Adam Kimmel used a skate video instead of a presentation, Prada recently released a psychedelic short featuring their clothing and bags, and as we had mentioned earlier, Viktor and Rolf will be displaying their collection on film this season with Shalom Harlow. Let's not even get into at Dita Von Teese flick. Will we be mourning the death of the catwalk in the not-so-distant future? Keep watching.
