Lemons to Lemonade: Earnest Sewn's Sweet Endeavor

earnestsewnlemonade.jpgRemember those hot sticky summer days you spent as a kid trying to make a buck selling lemonade on the corner? Now the grownups are trying their hand at the time-honored tradition, with Earnest Sewn hosting a lemonade stand in their Lower Eastside shop this weekend. Profits from the sweet nectar, along with tasty treats from Sweet Things Bake Shop, will benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club, which provides business training for disadvantaged women.

Scott Morrison, founder and designer of Earnest Sewn pulled on his childhood for this retail/charity team up: "I had lemonade stand as a kid growing up in Southern California. It's one of my best memories from my childhood summers. I think the sell through was pretty good, but not quite as profitable as a jean company."

Added bonuses include a 5% discount for Earnest Sewn's shoppers, as well as the store's pledge to match bake sale profits. So get nostalgic and indulge your inner kid (as well as your inner shopper and inner philanthropist)—we can't think of a better way to cool off. (Fashion Week Daily)

Earnest Sewn Lemonade Stand, August 9th and 10th from 12-6pm
