Living La Vida Ikea: Ikea's New Virtual Rooms

ikea.jpgIkea has always been known for its endearingly quirky ideas (meatballs with furniture, etc.), but their latest advertising scheme takes the cake. On the brand's Swedish website, visitors can interact with dioramas of rooms stuffed with Ikea goods in which strange characters live out their Ikea-lives to the beat of surprisingly catchy soundtracks. You can also peek into the characters' impeccably organized wardrobes—one pair of men have row upon row of stylish kicks, another older woman reveals her stash of jewelry, and a young would-be ice skater has a closet full of bedazzled outfits. We're pretty sure this isn't how most Ikea customers live, but their herky jerky Swedlsh antics are more amusing than a barrel of meatballs. (Racked)
