Rossi and Clyde: Sergio Designs for Puma

Back in 1973, the idea that an American basketball player, in this case Walt "Clyde" Frazier of the New York Knickerbockers, could inspire an Italian shoemaker known for its futbol kicks, in this case PUMA, was as wacky as it was progressive. For an equally unusual pairing, PUMA has looked no further than its own back yard by tapping Italian brand Sergio Rossi to create a line of women's shoes based on the old "Clyde" sneaker for spring/summer 2009. Just announced today, the collection features a mary-jane model, complete with sporty Velcro strapping, a simple, stunning low-top, and a daring lace-up heeled pump, all available in a selection of bold colors—including silver, lavender, and pink—that might even make that renowned funk style master Clyde Frazier blush. Now while the Sergio Rossi line from PUMA may be perfect for rolling down the sidewalks, no matter how hot you look in them, we really don't recommend attempting any layups.
