Snuggie Fight! The Battle Over the Blanket With Sleeves
It's perhaps the most attention-grabbing ad of the last year—one that inspired much derision and general despair over the direction of our nation and our species. It's evolved into a cultural flash point. We trouped it. Cathy Horyn wondered if André Leon Talley rocked it. Now, as Gawker showed us, the Times has discovered that people are actually battling over credit for the creation of the Snuggie/Slanket/Freedom Blanket. We kind of think this is like arguing over who invented Polio or who should have their name appended to the new subway fare hike. But what do we know? We wear our robes frontwards like the Luddites we are. (Gawker)
