Vetting the Style of McCain's Veep: Is Palin Vogue-worthy?

palin0829.jpgIn the interest of bipartisanship, we thought we'd extend our party style coverage to the GOP. Coming out of left field (or is it right field?), Sarah Palin was introduced today as John McCain's running mate. Never heard of her? Us either, but apparently she's the governor of some state called "Alaska." One might think that all those frigid winters would inspire an equally chilly personal style (a la Barbara Bush.) But while Palin is no Carla Bruni, she's still got some grasp on the politics of high-profile dressing. She's even posed for Vogue, don'tcha know? She keeps her looks feminine with a softly frosted up-do and motherly but still acceptably stylish outfits. Little touches like silk dress shirts and tweed suits go a long way. As far as woman politicians and style are concerned, she's doing pretty well for herself. We suggest an additional role as personal style adviser for McCain. What should be her first move—slashing off that comb-over.
