Phillip Lim Expands Stylish Empire With Swimwear, Shoes, and Lingerie

Part of the reason we love Phillip Lim's clothes is because they feel more expensive than they actually are—when you're in a market filled with $3000 dresses, his $700 version (just as goddess-y and just as refined, mind you) suddenly seems like a bit of an affordable twist, despite the somewhat weighty price tag. And now Lim is expanding his empire even further, into bathing suits, shoes, and lingerie, reports WWD. Just in time for summer, his three-piece bathing suit line will feature floral patchwork prints in three variations (two one-pieces, one bikini). Meanwhile, his lingerie line, which launches in his own stores May 20 and everywhere else spring '10, is a simple and refined collection of five styles, like boy shorts accented with sparkly beadwork or a slip in sly blue satin. And as for the shoes? Slated to launch this fall, there's an emphasis on flats versus stilettos, with stacked heel options for all of us not blessed with mile-long gams.
