"The Wonderland Project" Takes Disposable Clothing to a Whole New Level

Don't you hate when your clothes fray or get discolored in the wash? Well, what if they just disappeared altogether? A collective of cutting-edge, British minds have created... wait for it... a dress that completely dissolves in water. Helmed by science and design professors, the Wonderland project has created this dress to make a point about the clothing industry's textile waste (statistics show that landfill-bound textile waste has risen from 7 to 30% in five years). When exposed to water, the dress swirls into interesting patterns and then: oblivion! Fashion photographer Nick Knight's gotten in on the fun too: he made a short film featuring Alice Dellal "going from clothed to naked in just nine seconds". Oh my. If a disposable dress doesn't get your attention, surely a naked Brit beauty will. (The Independent)
