Under Armor: Bras for Bulletproofed Breasts
The Bundespolizei, the German federal police force charged with protecting millions of ladies and gents every day, can now protect the "ladies" in a whole new way. Turns out your everyday run-of-the-mill bra can actually be dangerous when worn under a bulletproof vest (or any other bulletproof garment, take your pick)—a bullet's impact can push an underwire or a plastic fixture into the body, causing serious injury. These new brassieres (not actually pictured) are wireless white-cotton and polyester numbers with "Polizei" written across the bottom and will probably never be part of a "Sexy Policewoman" Halloween costume. Still, they're functional and a heck of a lot better than having to go the ER to remove your bra. Luckily, most people seem to like us, so we're going to go ahead and skip adding anything to our bulletproof wardrobe—for now. (BBC)
