Victoria's Dirty Secret: A History of Dangerous Boulder Holders

After hearing the rather unappealing news that Victoria's Secret is facing a class-action law suit customers have found that the Extreme Me push-up bra may be the cause of rashes, hives and welts, we were ready to go au natural. Bras have never been the most comfortable thing—at least we aren't the first generation that has to deal with boob burdens.

2500BC—The Greeks had boobs on the brain since the beginning. There is record of a bra-like garment that actually lifted and revealed the bare breast.







1550AD— During this time, whale-bone and steel-rod corsets became in vogue in France, with women attempting to reduce their waists to less than ten inches. Oh la la.

1820s—The "corset mecanique" is invented. Using a system of pulleys, the corset could be tightened-- sans servant.







1893—Marie Tucek patents the "breast supporter." The design features two separate pockets for each breast, a shoulder strap and a back hook. Tits are forever changed.







1990—Madonna launches her "Blonde Ambition" tour with a wardrobe featuring conical bras. You know, Madge, it's not polite to point.







1992—Thierry Mugler designs mirrored swimwear. Strangely enough, these weren't bestsellers.







Today—We found this site called www.spikybras.com. Ouch!
