With New Harvard University Clothing Line, Even Dumb People Can Look Smart

harvard-university-clothing.jpg

Due to a tough economy, Harvard may be cutting back on many, many things this year, but luckily fashion won't be one of them. Private clothing manufacturer Wearwolf Group is collaborating with the University on a line of men's apparel named Harvard Yard, and while the idea of university apparel usually calls to mind images of ghastly sweatsuits, baseball caps, and other assorted memorabilia, boldly emblazoned with the name of your alma mater in block print, Harvard Yard is more Barneys CO-OP than the Coop, channeling the simple all-American style of Harvard men back in the '50s and '60s with pieces starting at $165. Fortunately, the collection opts for subtlety, steering clear of cheeky Veritas crests and logos, instead scattering flashes of crimson scattered throughout the tailored prep pieces. Finally, a way to do the whole Ivy League thing without all that studying—we'll be waiting for the women's collection. (WWD)
