Denim Bondage: The Gladiator vs. Jeans

We've made little secret of our fondness for the gladiator sandal. They're all over our feet, the streets, and, hell, even the Times' Bill Cunningham likes 'em. So why then are we looking down at our tastefully strapped calves and wondering if the party will soon be over?

Alas, blog The Tonnish brought to our attention the unfortunate trend of starlets actually tucking their jeans into their gladiators. Now, we have no idea how this started—perhaps a young dramady star was a tad confused about the purpose of the multiple straps—but knowing how trends work, we're scared that our favorite sandals might soon be walking over to Beacon's Closet. See, Hollywood has a strange way of landing on a trend 20 minutes late, swirling it around in a Champagne and Red Bull smoothie, and then broadcasting it out through TMZ. If the paps keep taking pics like these, it can only be a matter of time before Hot Topic releases a whole line of jeans pre-attached to gladiators. Thanks, girls. (The Tonnish)
