Talk about the eye of the tiger:
We love this exotic, glittery Balmain frock seen on Anna Della Russo, and as amazingly chic as it is, we just have a feeling a certain duo would really like the white tigress-inspired dress as well. See, we can't help but notice its eerie similarity to the costumes worn by animal tamers/magicians Siegfried & Roy. Well, fashion's always been bit of an illusion, so it makes total sense to look for inspiration at The Mirage, right?

Remember the old days of kicking back on a Saturday afternoon and spending an hour or two reading a fashion magazine? Oh, those stolen moments. Fashion blogs may have swiped your need for such pleasures, but something about all the update waiting and incongruent layouts never seems to satisfy us in the same ways. Well, times they are a' changing!
StreetStyl.es, a new aggregator of the best street fashion and personal style blogs, went live this week. Every 30 minutes the site is updated in a fresh, clear grid containing the most beautiful, new images selected from Refinery29-approved style sites. If you want to know more, you can simply click on the photo. We love the strict eye candy-only formula, it makes the site's addiction factor just that much more intense.

Fashionista raises an interesting question:
Who's actually wearing pink these days? They quote from the Olsens' new tome,
Influence, in which Mary-Kate and Jack McCollough discuss how pink is the highest selling color, yet they never see anyone in it. Truth is, we've been thinking about the color ever since Paris fashion week where it was captured on the fashion set by a bevvy of street photographers like Garance Doré and Street Peeper. Even the typically black-clad Leigh Lezark pulled it off. Are these ladies bringing pink back? Or did it never leave?

As we told you on Friday, the Citizens Band's "The Panic is On!" was must-see political burlesque. Too bad their three-night stand is a thing of the past.
Luckily, we ran into many of the band mates themselves outside the Theater of the Henry Street settlement and noticed how even those the lights had dimmed, for many of these performers and their audience, the show never ends.

Iceland Airwaves, a much anticipated music festival, took place mid October in Reykjavik, despite the country's teetering economic state. S
potted at the festival by both the Facehunterand Reykjavik Looks was one Eva Karin, an ethereal beauty pulling off propably one of the coolest pairs of overalls we've seen in awhile. The Sonia Rykiel knit touched on all the current trends, the jumpsuit one-piece shape, the marigold color, and the harem-esque wide legs. The playful, deliberate outlines, make her look a bit like a '70s cartoon that justt stepped out of School House Rock. Lolly lolly lolly get your overalls here…

They say people are attracted to themselves in others—that one's favorite word to hear is their own name, and it's why people often date others who bear similar looks.
Whether or not your believe this, we're seeing a reflective trend on the streets in sunglasses. The classic big, dark, shades have replaced their lenses with double-sided mirrors—those who wear them can see you, but you can't see them. Instead, as it would appear, all eyes are on you. Part voyeuristic, part narcissistic, and all style, these are the sunglasses of the moment. The Danes and French are all on this, and we're sure to be seeing more of the icy-meets-indulgent look soon.
