We've long been big fans of west-coast based design duo Mike & Chris's little asymmetrical leather jackets and perfect oversized T-shirts. Now, we're ready to slap down more of our spring wardrobe budget on a pair of shoes from the designers' new footwear line (debuting for spring/summer 2009). "The shoe collection was a natural progression for us being that we have worked with leather quite a bit," says one-half Mike Gonzalez. "We've incorporated details found on some of our clothing such as our signature buttons, slight distressing on the leathers, aged hardware, and stitching details."
He adds the main point of the collection, which ranges from woven platform heels to gladiator-style sandal-boots, was to create a footwear line that extended the label's founding laid-back chic ethos.
Mike & Chris footwear, from $218-$495, will be available at www.shopbop.com.

That is correct, but SS09 is the first time there is a full shoe line. Previously the shoes have been part of the women's collection.
