From Chloé Bags to Le Cordon Bleu, The Best Fashion + Food Bloggers On the Web

The world of fashion and food have pretty much always remained—and in our opinion, stupidly so—on opposite ends of the Venn Diagram. But lately, an uprising of sorts has been taking place on the blogosphere. Stylish, savvy, and very very hungry, these bloggers have combined their (and our!) love for the delicious and fashionable. We've took a lunch break to go over the best in the fashion+foodie world whose duds and dishes both look good enough to eat!

Luxirare

luxaire-fashion-food-websites.jpg

The biggest thing to hit the blogging community since ctrl-C ctrl-V, Luxirare is a fashion extremist and gastronomist whose high-class tastes extend from her bespoke leather jackets to the crimped potato chips she fashions from hand. Inventive, thoughtful, and with loads of personalized labeling equipment (seriously, where can we get a Refinery potato holder of our own?), Luxirare gives us a serious case of blog envy.

Blushing Ambition

blushing-ambition-food-meets-fashion.jpg

Hailing from Berkeley, California, Annabel is a girl who's seriously obsessed. Greek literature, anime, sports, and Japan dot the shortlist, but this cutie Cal senior's biggest loves are fashion and food (duh). Frankly, we're a little obsessed with her pics of fast food porn and her sweet and simple outfit pictures.

9 Of This Season's Most Devastatingly Hot Ad Campaigns

Let's be honest: These days, who really wants to stop in at Louis Vuitton just because some splashy Sprouse display beckoned to them from behind the gleaming glass? But nonetheless, a certain number of fall's picture-perfect ads have lured us into an almost hypnotized state—you know, one in which we find ourselves compulsively reaching for our wallets or digging like madwomen into our already deeply-deprived bank accounts. We're talking about images so alluring that we've found it hard to turn away. If you, too, are ready to triple the wants on your wish-list, go on and take a peeksie at our favorite ad campaigns of the season.

Kate Moss for Just Cavalli: Most Ambivalent Male Model Pose Next To The World's Hottest Supermodel
Um, could this guy look any less excited to be rubbing abs and shoulders with the most attractive woman on the planet? On another note…we will figure out a way to make our eyes smolder like Kate's. We will we will we will.

fall-09-ads-lanvin-campaign-kristen-mcmenamy.jpg

Kristen McMenamy for Lanvin: Best Use of Cat As Fashion Prop
In our ideal world, we will be wearing that insane jeweled collar Kristen is rocking, or else the delightful, ultra-luxe fur coat. But it's good to know that if all else fails, at least we can hoist a black cat over our shoulders and look every bit as stylish as Kristen in our H&M duds. Non?

fall-09-ads-mulberry-campaign.jpg

Irina Kulikova and Kasia Struss for Mulberry: Best Display of Hair as a Primal Force of Nature
We wouldn't typically think of toting Mulberry's luscious candy-colored bags to the forest lest they get eaten, but with hair this big, we'd be able to fend off anything, nasty wolves and all.

Dree Is Dripping With Diamonds and Not Much Else in The Latest Vogue Russia (NSFW!)

dree-vogue-russia-aug09-1.jpg

We've long been fans of downtown darling Dree Hemingway's cool kid, Alexander Wang-heavy aesthetic, but we're totally in love with the blonde bombshell's latest foray into unadulterated decadence. The much-hyped up-and-coming beauty stripped down to her lacy undies for Alasdair McLellan in the August issue of Vogue Russia, along with some seriously opulent piled-on bling, large tassel belts, lacquered talon-like nails, and a devilishly awesome black lip. The skin factor is definitely high, but if we had a stash of baubles like that, we probably wouldn't wear much else, either. (The Fashion Spot)

Before You Leave For the Weekend, Take Some Styling Tips From Magdalena Fracowiak

magdalena-editorial-1.jpg

We're about to kick off for the weekend, but we wanted to leave you with this beach-pretty editorial, shot by David Vasiljevic. In case you don't know what to wear for your July Fourth festivities, model Magdalena Fracowiak tries on cute-as-a-button looks that we're determined to reenact: Crocheted socks with mary janes, schoolgirl dresses, floral bloomers (which look refreshingly hip with a simple striped top), and white frocks paired with sailor hats. Just what we need for our weekend in the sun! As for that amazing floppy sunhat...we'll be grabbing the $40 American Apparel gray version and tying a big 'ol scarf around it for our four-hour drive out to the beach. See you by the pool! Siri Tollerod Makes The Cat Lady Nightmare Seem More Like a Fantasy In This Throwback Editorial...

siri-tollerod-cat-lady-1.jpg

When we saw this Miles Aldridge editorial on CyanaTrendLand this morning, we knew we had to share. From an old issue of Vogue Italia, Siri Tollerod plays the most unlikely of cat ladies--tottering about her big, empty house with nothing but an entire litter of kitties, all the while wearing loads of couture. Just goes to show you that a life spent pursuing clothes will get you nowhere but all alone with your massive wardrobe and some sad, sad kittens. Wait, what are we saying? Siri looks so fabulous in her sunhats, Zanottis, and headscarves that we're starting to think we wouldn't mind being single forever after all! Now how's that for empowerment? (CyanaTrendLand)

Rain, Cold, and Electrocution Couldn't Stop Our Save Fashion Campaign!

save-fashion-campaign-tom-hines-1.jpg

With Save Fashion merely a week away, we wanted to share our Tom Hines-shot campaign photos featuring Trump girls Georgie Wass, Jessica Perez, and Julia Wolters. In the spirit of Save Fashion, at moments it seemed like we needed someone to save us from the elements. A mixture of freezing rain and gusty conditions in Tivoli, NY made it way difficult to execute the '70s-tinged concept we were going for (even worse, our poor props guy got electrocuted from the fog machine. Sorry Jesse!). But in the end, we were absolutely thrilled with the mystical, ethereal editorial that was produced. Though we may have bled, sweated, and cried our way through this shoot, we made our latest Save Fashion campaign well worth the wait. Want to see more? Stop by our shop in SoHo from November 13-22 for some outrageous deals (steals, really) on all our favorite brands. See you there!

Save Fashion at Inven.tory, 237 Lafayette Street, at Spring. November 13-22, 12-8pm.

An Education Teaches Us a Lesson in Posh, Brit Dressing

When we saw An Education starring Carey Mulligan, we weren't expecting to get lesson in fashion. Based on a novel by Lynn Barber, the film takes place in England, 1961. Carey plays Jenny, a young British schoolgirl who, stifled by the tedium of adolescence, dreams of a Chanel-scented life. Though, while our eyes weren't glued to Carey and Peter Sarsgaard's electric chemistry, they were wandering to the fetching costumes that prompted this round-up. From smart prep-school uniforms to nipped floral dresses, every outfit was historically accurate but undeniably wearable. So, take a gander of our favorite three looks—maybe you'll even find that last item on your holiday wish-list!

New Magazine FashionFUCKs Around (NSFW, Duh)

fashion-fuck-issue-1-4.jpg

Lately, the only word that seems appropriate to use regarding the print industry's dire straits is one of our favorite little four-lettered friends (And no, Rachel Zoe fiends. It's not "I DIE."). In a pitch to celebrate the chic little vulgarity (and yeah, ok, fashion and stuff as well), fashionFUCK magazine's premiere Chadwick Tyler-shot issue's got a lot of things you'd except from a magazine of that moniker: Boobs, tongues, and a poem by Sappho about some ancient hanky-panky. Inspired by Ralph Ginzburg's Eros magazine, Brigitte Nicole wanted to create a magazine that was a consummation of graphic design, language, and—of course—love and nudity. The four-issue magazine will be available at Opening Ceremony for $4.

Pull Out Your H1N1 Masks! Vogue Italia Spreads the Fashion Bug

steven-meisel-air-supply-vogue-italia-1.jpg

We've always considered our fashion addiction something like a disease, but Steven Meisel's newest editorial for Vogue Italia paints it as an epidemic of H1N1 proportions. Masked scientists armed with oxygen tanks track the flame-haired Rianne ten Haken as she moves from airport to pool, all in a valiant attempt to contain her fashion virus. The doctors hardly seem up to the challenge though, as the model's tight, bright '80s looks have them running, crawling, and diving into pools for cover. But if you ask us, this is one bug we're quite happy to catch.

Stylish Spooks: Runway Looks Are Haute for Halloween

Is it couture, or a costume?—A trick, or a treat? How fortunate we are that Fashion Week comes the month before it's time to dress up in otherworldly garb for a night of devious party-hopping and candy-hunting. The spring '10 runway was chock-full of creative Halloween costume inspiration from one fashion capital to the next. Zombies, witches, ghouls, and mystical beings sashayed their boney frames for the world to see. And while we won't be purchasing a real Gareth Pugh for the 31st anytime soon, we're happy to justify our DIY attempts with these spooky high fashion statements.

The Elegant Undead

halloween-zombies.jpg

They say you can't keep a good woman down, and that is definitely true of the zombie crowd. A severe smokey eye, some torn-up skirts, a nice off-center stagger, and you'll be the poster girl of post-mortem ferocity.

Daul Kim Checks Into a Motel in Nowheresville, USA

daul-kim-russh-november-editorial-1.jpg

Though we call the big city our home now, we come from scattered roots—whether it's Minnesota, Nebraska, Singapore, or just upstate, our zip codes might begin in 100--, but a part of our hearts are always in far-flung locales. In a new Russh editorial, Daul Kim makes us briefly consider a return, proving that if you're armed with a wardrobe of Preen and Meadham Kirchoff, you can make your home anywhere—even if it is a barren motel outfitted with '70s polyester duvets. As if the sun-drenched dreamscape and luxe outfits weren't enough, the bleached-out beauty also shows us the other upside of camping out in ghost towns: If you want, you can hang out in your skivvies all day.
