New Magazine FashionFUCKs Around (NSFW, Duh)

fashion-fuck-issue-1-4.jpg

Lately, the only word that seems appropriate to use regarding the print industry's dire straits is one of our favorite little four-lettered friends (And no, Rachel Zoe fiends. It's not "I DIE."). In a pitch to celebrate the chic little vulgarity (and yeah, ok, fashion and stuff as well), fashionFUCK magazine's premiere Chadwick Tyler-shot issue's got a lot of things you'd except from a magazine of that moniker: Boobs, tongues, and a poem by Sappho about some ancient hanky-panky. Inspired by Ralph Ginzburg's Eros magazine, Brigitte Nicole wanted to create a magazine that was a consummation of graphic design, language, and—of course—love and nudity. The four-issue magazine will be available at Opening Ceremony for $4.

Pull Out Your H1N1 Masks! Vogue Italia Spreads the Fashion Bug

steven-meisel-air-supply-vogue-italia-1.jpg

We've always considered our fashion addiction something like a disease, but Steven Meisel's newest editorial for Vogue Italia paints it as an epidemic of H1N1 proportions. Masked scientists armed with oxygen tanks track the flame-haired Rianne ten Haken as she moves from airport to pool, all in a valiant attempt to contain her fashion virus. The doctors hardly seem up to the challenge though, as the model's tight, bright '80s looks have them running, crawling, and diving into pools for cover. But if you ask us, this is one bug we're quite happy to catch.

Stylish Spooks: Runway Looks Are Haute for Halloween

Is it couture, or a costume?—A trick, or a treat? How fortunate we are that Fashion Week comes the month before it's time to dress up in otherworldly garb for a night of devious party-hopping and candy-hunting. The spring '10 runway was chock-full of creative Halloween costume inspiration from one fashion capital to the next. Zombies, witches, ghouls, and mystical beings sashayed their boney frames for the world to see. And while we won't be purchasing a real Gareth Pugh for the 31st anytime soon, we're happy to justify our DIY attempts with these spooky high fashion statements.

The Elegant Undead

They say you can't keep a good woman down, and that is definitely true of the zombie crowd. A severe smokey eye, some torn-up skirts, a nice off-center stagger, and you'll be the poster girl of post-mortem ferocity.

Daul Kim Checks Into a Motel in Nowheresville, USA

daul-kim-russh-november-editorial-1.jpg

Though we call the big city our home now, we come from scattered roots—whether it's Minnesota, Nebraska, Singapore, or just upstate, our zip codes might begin in 100--, but a part of our hearts are always in far-flung locales. In a new Russh editorial, Daul Kim makes us briefly consider a return, proving that if you're armed with a wardrobe of Preen and Meadham Kirchoff, you can make your home anywhere—even if it is a barren motel outfitted with '70s polyester duvets. As if the sun-drenched dreamscape and luxe outfits weren't enough, the bleached-out beauty also shows us the other upside of camping out in ghost towns: If you want, you can hang out in your skivvies all day. Skype Session Turned Editorial: The Future of Photography?

darren-mcdonald-caitlin-lomax-skype-1.jpg

Whether it's through Photobooth or something else, we're all guilty of indulging in some vanity webcam photoshoots. After all, the grainy quality and forgiving light contrasts produce portraits that make anyone look model-pretty. Australian photographer Darren McDonald takes the medium to another level by producing a sexy-time shoot of a Skype conversation between him and model Caitlin Lomax. In what seems to be the result of a little "a/s/l?" banter, the low-budget, three-photo series is a surprisingly smart alternative to high-production beauty shots. The photos feel deeply personal, no retouching is really needed, and of course, there's the whole advantage of a model being able to see what she looks like as she moves. The best part? We can all recreate the shoot ourselves—just make sure to close the blinds before you attempt. (Cold After Midnight via Fashion Copious)

Siri Tollerod Makes The Cat Lady Nightmare Seem More Like a Fantasy In This Throwback Editorial...

siri-tollerod-cat-lady-1.jpg

When we saw this Miles Aldridge editorial on CyanaTrendLand this morning, we knew we had to share. From an old issue of Vogue Italia, Siri Tollerod plays the most unlikely of cat ladies--tottering about her big, empty house with nothing but an entire litter of kitties, all the while wearing loads of couture. Just goes to show you that a life spent pursuing clothes will get you nowhere but all alone with your massive wardrobe and some sad, sad kittens. Wait, what are we saying? Siri looks so fabulous in her sunhats, Zanottis, and headscarves that we're starting to think we wouldn't mind being single forever after all! Now how's that for empowerment? (CyanaTrendLand)

A First Peek Inside V's Beauty-Full June/July Issue

v-magazine-july-1.jpg

V's Beauty/Fall Preview issue doesn't hit newsstands until July 7th, but we got a special li'l sneak peek inside its glossy cover today with the Willy Vanderperre-shot editorial, "A Touch of Class." Beautifully androgynous model Iris Strubegger moves between futuristic Balenciaga and Prada's homely fishermen's wading boots with seamless ease, all the while wearing a deep and sultry berry shade that we imagine could be fall's answer to 2008's matte red. But what's with the insanely smeared black eye make-up? And we thought liquid liner and red lips were dramatic....

Abbey Lee Kershaw Brings Back the Nose Ring in July's Vogue Nippon

terry-richardson-vogue-nippon-1a.jpg

I toyed with the idea of getting a nose piercing in high school, half because it seemed appropriate with a Rancid patch (yes, I had one of those), half because, well, isn't that what teenage rebellion is all about? That phase may be over, but Vogue Nippon seems to suggest that nose jewelry is now highly fashionable, as evidenced in this Terry Richardson-shot editorial. Model-of-the-moment Abbey Lee Kershaw tries on skin-tight leather catsuits, studded Elise Overland minis, and some insane leather elbow-length gloves. And apparently, those concert wristbands I used to sleep in (oh, memories) are back, except this time they're done up in glitzy metal, and are layered with a man's watch for extra pizzaz. Chain me up! (The Fashion Spot)

Maryna Linchuk Performs a Steamy Striptease in Numéro Korea

numero-korea-maryna-linchuk-1.jpg

We've long thought vixen Maryna Linchuk is one of the sexiest models in the biz.For July's Numéro Korea, photographer Sebastian Kim captures the temptress in a series of scantily-clad solo shots. Corseted and laced up in black lingerie, studded heels, and an impossibly leg-lengthening pair of platform boots, the clothes eventually start to come off, as Maryna goes topless behind a sheer curtain and finally ends up nude behind an oversized, sequin bag. A lazy day indoors has never looked so sexy. (The Fashion Spot)

Flair Italy's Cinematic Glamour Makes Us Want To Whip Out the Liquid Liner

flair-july-editorial-1.jpg

I've had an obsession with liquid liner and winged eyes lately...something about the ultra-dramatic, super-glamorous look seems both right for day ('60s boho) and night (high impact). And in this Flair editorial from the July issue, photographer Chad Pitman puts up his noirish muse in a series of cinematic shots that seem to evoke old-Hollywood films, classic Vermeer paintings, and something otherworldly, all at once. Though heavily-lined eyes and red lips may be a bit too much for the everyday, I'll definitely be trying out the looks in isolation...without the thousand-dollar couture. (The Fashion Spot)
